TPSM63606RDLR step-down power module

The TPSM63606RDLR is a high-performance, synchronous step-down power module developed by Texas Instruments, designed to deliver robust power density and efficiency for a wide variety of industrial and automotive applications. This device integrates a high-efficiency DC/DC controller, power MOSFETs, and a shielded inductor into a compact, thermally enhanced package, significantly reducing design complexity and board space. Operating over a wide input voltage range of 3V to 36V, it is capable of supplying a continuous output current of up to 6A with excellent load and line regulation.

This power module is distinguished by its advanced feature set, which includes TI’s proprietary frequency stacking technology that allows multiple modules to operate in parallel for higher current capability while minimizing input filter requirements. It supports an adjustable switching frequency range from 200kHz to 2.2MHz, providing designers the flexibility to optimize for efficiency or solution size while enabling external synchronization to avoid beat frequency noise. The integrated shielded inductor significantly reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and eliminates the complexity of magnetics selection, ensuring reliable operation in noise-sensitive environments. Furthermore, the TPSM63606RDLR incorporates comprehensive protection mechanisms, including overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), and thermal shutdown, ensuring system safety under fault conditions. Its high efficiency is maintained across the entire load range, thanks to low drain-to-source on-resistance (RDS(on)) integrated MOSFETs and a pulse-width modulation (PWM) architecture designed for minimal power loss.
