The ADM3057EBRWZ-RL from Analog Devices Inc. is a high-performance, 3 kV rms signal and power isolated Controller Area Network (CAN) transceiver designed for robust communication in electrically noisy industrial environments. It integrates a CAN FD transceiver, a 3-channel digital isolator, and an isoPower® isolated DC-DC converter into a single 20-lead Wide Body SOIC package, creating a fully isolated solution powered by a single 5 V supply. The transceiver supports data rates up to 12 Mbps for CAN FD and is compliant with the ISO 11898-2:2016 standard, operating reliably over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +105°C.

This transceiver delivers exceptional integration and robustness. Its integrated isoPower DC-DC converter eliminates the need for an external isolated power supply, significantly simplifying board design and reducing the bill of materials. It features a low maximum loop propagation delay of 150 ns and an extended common-mode range of ±25 V, ensuring reliable data transmission over longer bus cables in harsh conditions. The chip offers comprehensive bus fault protection up to ±40 V on the CANH and CANL pins and includes low-power standby and silent modes for power management and listen-only functionality. It also incorporates dominant timeout, current limiting, and thermal shutdown features to prevent bus lock-up and protect against output short circuits.
