MP1584EN-LF-P 3A 1.5MHz 28V Step-Down Converter IC 

The MP1584EN-LF-P is a high-efficiency, non-synchronous step-down (buck) switching regulator IC from Monolithic Power Systems (MPS), designed for compact, high-performance DC-DC power conversion. Housed in a thermally enhanced SOIC8E (8-pin) surface-mount package with an exposed pad, it integrates a high-side 650V power MOSFET and operates over a wide 4.5V to 28V input voltage range. Delivering up to 3A of continuous output current with an adjustable output from 0.8V to 25V, it utilizes current-mode control for fast transient response and simplified loop compensation. Achieving up to 90% conversion efficiency, it features a pulse-skipping mode at light loads to minimize power consumption (100µA quiescent current) and a 1.5MHz programmable switching frequency to enable the use of small external passive components. Built-in thermal shutdown, over-current protection, and under-voltage lockout ensure robust, reliable operation in industrial, automotive, and battery-powered environments.
