GD25D05CTIGR serial NOR Flash memory IC 512Kbit SPI - Dual I/O 100 MHz
The GD25D05CTIGR is a 3.3 V, 512 Kb (64 K x 8) uniform-sector serial NOR Flash memory manufactured by GigaDevice, delivered in an 8-pin SOP-8 package and shipped in tape-and-reel form. It operates from a single 2.7 V to 3.6 V supply and is rated for the industrial temperature range of -40 degree C to +85 degree C. The device supports the standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) on a 4-signal bus (SCLK, CS#, SI, SO) and also provides a Dual SPI mode that converts SI and SO into bidirectional I/O pins (IO0, IO1) to double the data transfer rate. With a 100 MHz clock frequency for fast-read under 30 pF load and up to 160 Mbit/s throughput in dual-output mode, the GD25D05CTIGR is a compact, low-power non-volatile code and parameter storage solution for embedded systems.
Thanks to its fast dual-SPI throughput, tiny SOP-8 footprint and 0.1 microampere deep-sleep current, the GD25D05CTIGR is widely deployed in space-constrained, power-sensitive embedded systems. In consumer electronics it stores firmware and user settings for set-top boxes, routers, printers, gaming consoles and smart-home controllers. In IoT and wireless modules such as WiFi and Bluetooth devices, it serves as reliable code storage and sensor-data buffer. Industrial equipment including PLCs, variable-frequency drives, instruments and gateways use it for parameter backup, calibration tables and event logs, where the -40 degree C to +85 degree C rating guarantees stable operation. It has been successfully implemented in drone smart-battery firmware backup and recovery, passing high-low temperature, low-power and intensive read-write tests. The device also finds use in automotive aftermarket electronics, in-vehicle auxiliary units, medical portable monitors and health-tracking equipment.
Alternative SPI NOR Flash Solutions
1. GD25D05E: A next-generation 3 V, 512 Kb uniform-sector SPI NOR Flash in SOP-8 150 mil with 104 MHz single and 80 MHz dual I/O capability, providing a direct evolutionary replacement for the GD25D05CTIGR.
2. GD25D05CKIGR: A 512 Kb, 3 V standard and dual serial NOR Flash in compact USON-8 (1.5 x 1.5 mm) packaging, ideal for designs that need the same capacity in a much smaller footprint.
3. GD25WD05CTIGR: A 1.65 V to 3.6 V wide-voltage 512 Kb SPI NOR Flash in SOP-8 150 mil with 0.1 microampere deep-sleep current, serving as a drop-in alternative to Microchip SST25VF512A and to the GD25D05CTIGR for dual-voltage systems.
4. GD25Q40CTIGR: A 3 V, 4 Mb (512 K x 8) Quad-SPI NOR Flash in SOP-8 150 mil, suitable as a higher-density upgrade path while retaining the same footprint and basic SPI compatibility.
5. GD25LD05E: A 1.8 V, 512 Kb low-voltage SPI NOR Flash in SOP-8 150 mil, providing an equivalent 512 Kb solution for strictly 1.8 V power-rail designs.
