The MP2451DT-LF-Z from MPS is a high-efficiency, 0.6A, 36V input step-down (buck) DC-DC converter housed in a compact SOT-23-6 package. Designed for robust performance in industrial and automotive environments, it operates from a wide 3.3V to 36V input range and delivers an adjustable output from 0.8V to 28.8V via an external resistor divider. The chip integrates a 500mΩ internal high-side MOSFET and operates at a fixed 2MHz switching frequency, allowing for a small external inductor and ceramic output capacitors, which minimizes the total solution footprint. Key protection features include cycle-by-cycle current limiting, thermal shutdown, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO), ensuring reliable operation. With a low 130µA quiescent current and an ultra-low 3µA shutdown current, it is optimized for battery-powered applications requiring extended runtimes. The device is fully specified over the -40°C to +125°C junction temperature range and is suitable for a broad range of power conversion tasks.
