MPQ6411GS-AEC1 WDT supervisory IC 1 Channel 8-SOIC
The MPQ6411GS-AEC1 is an automotive-grade WDT supervisory IC designed and manufactured by Monolithic Power Systems (MPS), purpose-built to reset and continuously monitor the safe execution of a microcontroller (MCU). In normal operation, the host MCU sends a periodic trigger signal to the device within a defined time window; a missing, early, or late trigger causes the watchdog to assert a reset, forcing the MCU back to a known state. The device additionally provides an active-low power-on reset (POR) signal during power-up and brown-out conditions, protecting the MCU from executing erroneous code while the supply rail is still settling. The family is offered in two nominal supply variants, 5 V (MPQ6411) and 3.3 V (MPQ6411-33), both available in AEC-Q100 versions, giving designers flexibility when interfacing with legacy 5 V logic or modern low-voltage microcontrollers.
Alternative watchdog timer ic models
● The TPS3436-Q1 from Texas Instruments is an ultra-low-power (250 nA typical) AEC-Q100-qualified window watchdog timer with programmable window thresholds, available in small SOT-23 and SOT-23-6 packages for space-constrained automotive control modules.
● The SGM858xQ from SGMICRO is a pin- and function-compatible AEC-Q100 Grade 1 windowed watchdog timer offering the same short/long window modes, POR, and watchdog-disable function in a green SOIC-8 package, making it a near drop-in replacement.
● The MAX6824/MAX6825 from Analog Devices (Maxim) is a family of low-voltage, windowed watchdog supervisors with factory-set or pin-selectable windows and a manual reset input, well-suited for industrial and automotive MCU monitoring where push-pull or open-drain reset outputs are required.
● The S-19114 series from ABLIC is an automotive-grade windowed watchdog timer with select able time-out and window modes, integrated reset, and low current consumption, targeting body electronics and sensor modules requiring AEC-Q100 compliance.
