PCF7900VHN/C0L118 PLL transmitter IC

The PCF7900VHN/C0L118 is a highly integrated, fractional-N PLL-based UHF transmitter IC from NXP Semiconductors, designed for low-power, short-range wireless data transmission in the Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) and Short Range Device (SRD) frequency bands. This single-chip solution operates across a wide supply voltage range of 2.7V to 3.6V and supports programmable frequencies including 315 MHz, 434 MHz, 868 MHz, and 915 MHz. It features flexible modulation schemes (OOK, ASK, FSK) with a programmable output power of up to +10 dBm, while maintaining a low current consumption of approximately 7 mA during transmission at +6 dBm. The device integrates a VCO and loop filter on-chip, significantly reducing the external component count and PCB footprint. Housed in a compact 16-pin HVQFN package (3x3 mm), it is specified for an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for demanding automotive and industrial environments.

Alternative RF Transmitter Models

1. MAX7044ATJ+ (Analog Devices): A 315MHz/433MHz ASK transmitter with +13 dBm output power and automatic antenna tuning for enhanced range in RKE applications.

2. ATA5745 (Microchip): A single-chip UHF ASK/FSK transmitter with integrated microcontroller core, specifically designed for TPMS sensor modules.

3. CC115L (Texas Instruments): A low-cost sub-1 GHz RF transceiver offering extensive configurability and support for multiple modulation formats beyond simple OOK/ASK.

4. Si4010 (Silicon Labs): A crystal-less, fully integrated RF transmitter with an embedded 8-bit MCU, ideal for cost-sensitive remote control designs.
