FSA2567MPX 2:1 USB Switch with Auto-Detect

The FSA2567MPX is a high-performance 2:1 USB 2.0 multiplexer/demultiplexer (switch) manufactured by onsemi, designed for seamless signal routing between two USB hosts or devices. Housed in a compact 8-pin MLP (Micro Leadframe Package) with a 2.0×2.0mm footprint, it operates over an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, supporting a wide supply voltage range of 1.65V to 5.5V for compatibility with both low-voltage and standard USB systems. This device features low on-resistance (typically 5Ω at 3.3V), minimal insertion loss, and high isolation between channels, ensuring signal integrity for USB 2.0 high-speed (480Mbps) and full-speed (12Mbps) data transmission, and is RoHS-compliant with MSL 1 rating for unlimited shelf life.

Equipped with automatic host detection and plug-and-play functionality, the FSA2567MPX eliminates the need for external control signals, simplifying system design. It integrates built-in ESD protection (±8kV contact, ±15kV air) to safeguard against electrostatic discharge, a common hazard in USB applications, and supports hot-swapping to enable safe connection/disconnection without system shutdown. The switch features break-before-make switching to prevent signal shorting between channels, while its low power consumption (typical 1μA quiescent current) makes it ideal for battery-powered devices.
