VNH5019ATR-E H-bridge motor driver

The VNH5019ATR-E is an automotive-grade, fully integrated H-bridge motor driver manufactured by STMicroelectronics, designed to control a wide range of brushed DC motor applications. Utilizing STMicroelectronics' proprietary VIPower M0 technology, this monolithic device seamlessly integrates dual high-side drivers along with two low-side switches into a single package. Designed to ensure flawless operation under harsh environments, the VNH5019ATR-E incorporates an extensive suite of embedded protection and diagnostic mechanisms. The integrated intelligent circuitry provides cross-conduction protection, alongside reliable undervoltage and overvoltage shutdown features to handle power supply fluctuations safely. Furthermore, the chip guards against catastrophic failure with active current limitation, thermal shutdown for both high-side and low-side switches, and safety measures against the loss of ground or VCC. It delivers comprehensive fault diagnostics through external status pins, protecting the output stage from severe short-to-ground and short-to-VCC conditions.
