VNH9013Y Half Bridge (2) Driver DC Motors, General Purpose MOSFET (Metal Oxide)
The VNH9013Y, produced by STMicroelectronics, is an AEC-Q100 qualified fully integrated automotive H-bridge built with ST's proprietary VIPower® M0-S9 process, targeting high-current brushed-DC loads in harsh 12 V / 24 V vehicle platforms. The device is specified for 4 V to 36 V supply operation (absolute max VCC80 V, with the whole bridge forced off above ~40 V), delivers up to 40 A continuous output at TC= 150 °C, and accepts 10 V-compatible logic inputs so it can be driven straight from an automotive-grade 5 V / 3.3 V microcontroller without level shifters. Its symmetric mechanical layout and very low power-loop stray inductance make it especially suited to fast-switching, high-di/dt actuator stages where a discrete MOSFET + gate-driver split would otherwise be required.
Per-leg 13 mΩ RDS(on)at junction, 40 A continuous (TC= 150 °C), 80 A single-pulse for 20 ms, and an 80 V absolute-max VCCrating put the 9013 into the heavy-duty tier of ST's VNH portfolio — well above the 8 A / 180 mΩ VNH5180 and even above the 20 A / 70 mΩ VNH7070. Protection is comprehensive: undervoltage lockout, thermal shutdown backed by an embedded thermal sensor (–8.1 mV/K, readable via the chain diode), cross-conduction prevention, current limiting, and 4000 V HBM ESD on drain pins. Junction range –40 °C to +175 °C, case –40 °C to +150 °C, covering under-hood zones. The 10 V-compatible inputs and M0-S9 process also give low gate charge (Qg~ 40 nC @ VGS= 10 V, ID= 6 A) for crisp switching.
