VNHD7012AY Motor Driver CMOS, Power MOSFET PWM PowerSSO-36
VNHD7012AY is an automotive-qualified dual high-side H-bridge pre-driver IC developed by STMicroelectronics with its proven VIPower proprietary technology, which integrates robust protected high-side power MOSFETs and dedicated driving circuits for two external low-side N-channel power MOSFETs on a single die, packaged in a thermally optimized PowerSSO-36 exposed pad package to deliver excellent heat dissipation performance for high-load automotive applications. This device supports a maximum continuous output current of 38A, features 3V CMOS-compatible input pins INA and INB that directly connect to standard automotive microcontrollers to configure motor rotation direction and braking states, and allows up to 20kHz PWM operation for smooth, precise DC motor speed regulation across all working conditions.
It is equipped with a full set of built-in protection mechanisms including load current limiting, active power limiting with latch-off, thermal shutdown with latch-off, cross-current prevention, under-voltage shutdown, over-voltage clamping, ESD protection, ground loss and VCC loss protection, as well as configurable drain-source voltage monitoring for external low-side MOSFETs to realize battery short-circuit protection. Fully compliant with AEC-Q100 automotive reliability standards, this IC also integrates a built-in charge pump to provide reverse battery protection, supports low-power standby mode and half-bridge independent operation, making it ideal for automotive DC motor control scenarios such as body convenience systems, thermal management water pumps and fan drivers.
