The ADS8548SRGCR is a high-performance, 14-bit, 8-channel SAR ADC featuring true bipolar inputs and simultaneous sampling capability. Housed in a compact 64-VQFN package with an exposed thermal pad, this device operates across an extended industrial temperature range of –40°C to +125°C. It is a member of the pin- and software-compatible ADS85x8 family, which includes 12-bit, 14-bit, and 16-bit variants, allowing flexible system upgrades without PCB redesign. The ADC supports both parallel and serial (SPI) data interfaces, offers a programmable internal reference buffer, and handles analog input signals up to ±12V, making it a versatile solution for precision multi-channel data acquisition.

The ADS8548SRGCR delivers 14-bit resolution with a maximum per-channel sampling rate of 600 kSPS in parallel mode (450 kSPS in serial mode), enabling high-speed, simultaneous acquisition across all eight channels. Its outstanding AC performance includes an 85dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and –91dB total harmonic distortion (THD), ensuring high-fidelity signal conversion for demanding measurement applications. The device features a programmable, buffered internal reference with an output range of 0.5V to 2.5V (or 0.5V to 3.0V), accommodating a wide variety of input signal amplitudes. True bipolar inputs support differential signaling with input ranges up to ±12V, eliminating the need for external level-shifting circuitry. The flexible parallel or serial interface options, along with daisy-chain support, simplify integration with microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs. Additionally, the device is fully specified for operation over the –40°C to +125°C temperature range, ensuring reliable performance in harsh industrial environments.
