PCA9544APWR 4-Channel I2C/SMBus Multiplexer

The PCA9544APWR is a high-reliability 4-channel bidirectional I2C/SMBus multiplexer from Texas Instruments (TI), designed to expand a single I2C master interface to four independent slave channels, resolving I2C slave address conflicts in embedded systems. It integrates voltage translation functionality, enabling communication between 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V and 5V devices, and features power-on reset (POR) that deselects all channels by default for system safety. Controlled via an 8-bit I2C control register, it supports standard-mode (100kHz) and fast-mode (400kHz) operation, with interrupt logic for each slave channel, packaged in a 20-TSSOP for compact, high-density PCB designs suitable for industrial and consumer applications.

Operating at a 2.3V to 5.5V supply voltage range, the PCA9544APWR consumes low standby current, with 5.5V-tolerant inputs for enhanced compatibility. It operates reliably across -40°C to 85°C industrial temperature range, boasting ESD protection up to 2000V (human body model) and latch-up performance exceeding 100mA.
