SN74LVC1T45DBVR bidirectional voltage-level translator chip  1 circuit 1 channel 420Mbps

The SN74LVC1T45DBVR is a single-bit, dual-supply, bidirectional voltage-level translator from Texas Instruments, designed for seamless and flexible signal conversion between different voltage domains without the need for a direction control pin. It features two independent configurable power-supply rails: the A port operates from 1.65 V to 5.5 V, and the B port operates from 1.65 V to 5.5 V, allowing for universal bidirectional translation between any voltage levels within this range (e.g., 1.8 V ↔ 3.3 V, 2.5 V ↔ 5 V). Its innovative auto-direction sensing circuitry determines the data flow direction based on the logic levels present on the I/O pins, simplifying system design by eliminating the need for a separate direction control signal.

This translator supports full bidirectional voltage translation with data rates up to 100 Mbps (push-pull) and 20 Mbps (open-drain), making it suitable for a variety of communication protocols. It features a typical propagation delay of 4.2 ns, ensuring minimal signal latency. The device is characterized by a very low static power consumption, typically less than 5 µA. All I/O pins are tolerant to voltages up to 5.5 V, providing robustness during power sequencing events.

SN74LVC1T45DBVR level translator Applications

● Microcontroller/Processor Interfacing: Connects low-voltage core logic (e.g., 1.8V) to higher-voltage peripherals, sensors, or memory (e.g., 3.3V or 5V) in embedded systems.

● I2C, SMBus, and 1-Wire Level Shifting: Provides automatic bidirectional voltage translation for open-drain communication buses, simplifying bus expansion and sensor networks.

● Sensor and Module Integration: Bridges the voltage gap between modern low-power sensors and legacy system power rails in IoT devices, wearables, and industrial modules.

● General-Purpose GPIO Expansion: Enables safe and automatic voltage translation for general-purpose I/O lines in mixed-voltage FPGA, ASIC, or multi-board systems.
