TLV431ACDBVR shunt voltage reference and controller 1.24V 6 VV ±1% 15 mA SOT-23-5

The TLV431ACDBVR is a high-precision, adjustable shunt voltage reference and controller from Texas Instruments, featuring a tight voltage tolerance of 0.5% (A grade) and a low reference voltage (Vref) of 1.24V.  This three-terminal programmable device operates over a wide cathode current range of 80 µA to 100 mA, enabling versatile use in both low-power and high-current applications.  Housed in a space-saving SOT-23-5 package, it offers a low output impedance and a low temperature coefficient, ensuring stable voltage regulation across a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.  The TLV431A is designed to operate with a minimum supply voltage (from cathode to anode) of just 1.5V, making it ideal for low-voltage systems.  Its adjustable output voltage, set by two external resistors, can be programmed from Vref (1.24V) up to 6V, providing exceptional flexibility for voltage monitoring, feedback control, and precision regulation in a compact footprint.

TLV431ACDBVR Adjustable Shunt Regulator Applications

This versatile device is widely used as a precision voltage reference in switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) for feedback regulation, in battery management systems for undervoltage/overvoltage monitoring, and as a replacement for Zener diodes in linear regulators and adjustable shunt regulators.  It is also commonly found in consumer electronics, portable devices, and automotive modules for tasks such as voltage clamping, comparator circuits, and error amplification, where its low operating voltage, high accuracy, and compact size are critical advantages.
