TPS51285BRUKR is a dual-channel, automotive-grade synchronous buck controller from Texas Instruments that delivers up to 20 A total output current (10 A per phase) from a wide 4.5 V to 36 V input in a thermally-enhanced QFN-20 package, enabling 92 % peak efficiency while switching at 400 kHz to 475 kHz and needing only 84 µA quiescent current in skip-mode . Each phase integrates 5 mΩ high-side and 2 mΩ low-side MOSFETs, eliminating external FETs and drivers, and supports adaptive on-time D-CAP3™ control for sub-100 ns load-step response without compensation networks, shrinking BOM and board space for 12 V battery rails, infotainment SoCs and ADAS camera hubs.

Output voltage is resistor-programmable from 0.6 V to 5.5 V with ±1 % accuracy over –40 °C to +125 °C; current-mode architecture allows lossless DCR or 2 mΩ sense-resistor current sharing when paralleling two devices for > 40 A loads . Built-in 1.5 ms soft-start, cycle-by-cycle over-current fold-back, UVLO, OVLO and thermal shutdown meet AEC-Q100 Grade-1 stress requirements; selectable forced-PWM or pulse-skip modes optimise EMI vs light-load efficiency, while 200 kHz external sync input simplifies meeting CISPR-25 in AM-band.
