TPS5430DDAG4 step-down converte 1 Output 3A

The TPS5430DDAG4 is a 3A wide-input-range step-down (buck) converter from Texas Instruments, designed for high-efficiency power management in consumer, industrial, and automotive applications. Housed in a thermally enhanced 8-pin SOIC PowerPAD package, this device integrates a 110mΩ high-side N-channel MOSFET and operates from a wide 5.5V to 36V input voltage range, making it ideal for 12V and 24V distributed power systems. Delivering up to 3A continuous output current (4A peak) with adjustable output voltage down to 1.22V at 1.5% initial accuracy, it achieves up to 95% efficiency at 500kHz fixed switching frequency. The device features internal compensation, voltage feedforward for improved line regulation, and comprehensive protection including overcurrent limiting, overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown, ensuring reliable operation across the automotive temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.

TI buck converter Applications

• Consumer Electronics: Set-top boxes, DVD players, LCD displays, and plasma TVs requiring stable, efficient power conversion

• Industrial Power Systems: 12V and 24V distributed power architectures for factory automation, PLCs, and process control equipment

• Automotive Electronics: Car audio systems, infotainment modules, and auxiliary power supplies with wide voltage tolerance

• Battery Chargers: Efficient charging circuits for lead-acid, Li-ion, and NiMH batteries in portable and stationary applications

• High-Power LED Drivers: Constant current supplies for street lighting, architectural illumination, and automotive LED headlamps

• Telecommunications: Power supplies for routers, switches, and network infrastructure equipment

Alternative Compatible Regulators

1. TPS5431DDAG4: Lower voltage variant with 5.5V–23V input range sharing identical 3A capability and package for applications not requiring 36V tolerance.

2. LM2596S-ADJ: Texas Instruments' cost-effective 3A 150kHz non-synchronous buck converter offering pin-compatible alternative with lower switching frequency and reduced efficiency.

3. MP1584EN-LF-Z: Monolithic Power Systems' 3A 28V buck converter with higher 1.5MHz frequency and integrated switches for compact designs requiring reduced inductor size.

4. XL4015: XLSEMI's 5A 38V asynchronous buck converter providing higher current capability with external diode for budget-sensitive high-power applications.
