ADI ADG731BSUZ 32-Channel Serial-Controlled Analog Multiplexer

The ADG731BSUZ is a high-performance, monolithic CMOS analog multiplexer designed for 32-channel single-ended or dual 16-channel differential signal routing.  Featuring a 3-wire SPI-compatible serial interface (SYNC, SCLK, DIN), it enables compact control of 32 inputs (S1–S32) routed to a common output (D) or 16 inputs to differential outputs.  The device operates with a wide 1.8 V to 5.5 V single-supply voltage or ±2.5 V dual-supply configuration, ensuring compatibility with low-power battery-operated systems and high-voltage industrial applications.  Its 4 Ω (typical) on-resistance and 0.5 Ω flatness across the signal range minimize insertion loss and distortion, while a 42 ns switching time supports high-speed data acquisition.

ADG731BSUZ Analog Multiplexer Applications

The ADG731BSUZ is widely deployed in applications requiring flexible, high-density signal routing with minimal board space.  Key use cases include optical communication systems (multiplexing laser diode drivers or photodetector signals), data acquisition systems (channel selection for ADCs/DACs), audio/video switching (routing HDMI or audio streams), and battery-powered devices (low-voltage signal management in portable medical instruments).  Its SPI interface simplifies integration with microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs, while its low on-resistance and fast switching enable high-fidelity signal transmission in test and measurement equipment, relay replacement modules, and automatic test equipment (ATE).
